This perennial is very useful for adding interest to the garden during late summer. Pure white, single, saucer-shaped flowers are produced from September and into early autumn. Anemone x hybrida ‘Honorine Jobert’ has 3-lobed palmate mid green leaves. The basal leaves are usually twice as big as those found on the stems. The root systems of Anemone x hybrida ‘Honorine Jobert’ can be invasive, spreading by suckers. It is easy to create new plants of Anemone x hybrida ‘Honorine Jobert’ by lifting and dividing the clumps.
Cut back stalks after all the flowers have faded and tidy up dead leaves in March. Apply a good 5-7cm mulch of manure or well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant in spring. Avoid moving the plant since it resents disturbance. Where necessary lift and divide congested clumps in early spring.
