This shrub comes into it’s own during the winter months when the strongly curling, twisted stems are leafless. The stems are useful for an unusual touch to a flower arrangement.
Also during late winter and early spring 5cm long yellow catkins are produced.
Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’ has rough textured, mid-green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’ is suitable for growing in a container.
