The branches of this deciduous shrub are arranged in a distinctively wide-spreading, horizontal, layered fashion. It has oval, mid-green leaves that change colour in autumn to a rich, deep red colour. Viburnum plicatum ‘Mariesii’ has white flowers that are 5-10cm across and produced in late spring and early summer. An excellent shrub to use as a specimen feature in a large lawn.
